Lot 7. Robert J. Burdette. (1844-1914). Civil war soldier, minister, poet, journalist and humorist. He served with the 47th Illinois Regiment during the Civil War and took part in the siege of Vicksburg. Following the war, he worked as a journalist. He was famous for his sayings. Here’s one that was quoted in Chicken Soup for the Soul: "There are two days about which nobody should ever worry, and these are yesterday and tomorrow.""
